UWC Mozambique Fundraising Manager
Position Location: Maputo

UWC National Committees (NCs) are mostly volunteer-led groups operating in over 150 countries and territories. They are responsible for identifying and selecting students with the potential to thrive at UWC and become agents of positive change.
Job Description
Reporting to the UWC Mozambique Managing Director, the Fundraising Manager will facilitate increased scholarship opportunities for the UWC Mozambique National Committee by collaborating with UWC International, nurturing corporate sponsor connections, and expanding the donor network. This role involves devising and implementing strategies to enhance donor retention, acquisition, and engagement, as well as overseeing both the scholarship program and the national committee membership program.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate mission-aligned programs that advance both educational and fundraising objectives—this includes concept development, curriculum design, and impact tracking—while providing strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support the national committee membership program, ensuring consistent effective engagement, retention and contributions from members.
- Develop and uphold clear policies, procedures, and guidelines to govern all fundraising activities.
- Lead outreach efforts in partnership with educational institutions and key stakeholders, organising events and sessions to promote UWC Mozambique and attract a diverse pool of scholarship applicants.
- Collaborate regularly with UWC International to align on fundraising initiatives and advocate for increased scholarship placements for UWC Mozambique.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners who support UWC Mozambique.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of donation records and reporting obligations to donors and key stakeholders, promoting transparency and accountability.
- Stay informed of emerging trends and best practices, integrating innovative approaches to enhance fundraising efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as non-profit management, business administration, finance or education.
- Proficiency in both English and Portuguese, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Proven experience in scholarship administration, fundraising or a related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities, organise tasks effectively, and achieve set goals.
- Passionate commitment to the UWC's mission and values, particularly in promoting access to education for underserved communities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general comfort with digital tools and platforms.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Remote work environment within a virtual office setting.
- Flexible, deadline-driven schedule with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.
- Occasional evening and weekend availability is required for meetings and events.
- Must have access to a personal computer and a reliable internet connection.
